Tool Condition Monitoring Systems
The
Tool Condition Monitoring System (TCM) is disarmingly simple
in that it reads the most minute signals from standard
spindle bearing, pre amplifies the signal, compares actual
force with a taught-in, programmed limit and provides the
appropriate signal to the machine control.
The
TCM is designed to measure the slightest variation in both
radial and axial loads. Resultant forces, when amplified,
provide a true representation of the forces resulting from
the specific tool action. The TCM works by measuring the
change in the cutting force as the tool wears or breaks. The
sensor signal is amplified and then sent to the TCM for
conditioning and evaluation. The system lets the user set
limits for tool breakage, tool wear, and missing tool.
The Tool Condition Monitoring system also features include
self-teaching, self-calibration, wear graph, LCD display,
numeric display of peak and average loads, menu driven
software, and built in diagnostic functions. This tool
monitoring technology can be applied to single spindle or
multi-spindle applications. The TCM can be installed on new
machines or retrofitted to an existing machine. The TCM is
your "problem solver" for all your tool monitoring
applications.
