Double Blank Detectors

The Double Blank Detector is a comparator which measures material thickness against preset reference values. This analyzer is used in sheet metal processes such as blank destackers, feeders, conveyors. It is also used in detecting hidden metal parts in assembly operations and for parts sorting. The Double Blank Detector is housed in a compact, oil-tight enclosure. The front panel contains an easy to use 8-position keypad and a backlit Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). Thickness sensors are connected to the unit by industrial quality cables and plugs.

The operator inputs preset thickness values through the keypad. After the start of the measuring cycle, the display shows the current preset thickness, material presence indication, material thickness, and the number of pieces the sensor is detecting. This display will also show menus for function selection and data entry, as well as descriptive fault messages.

The results of the analysis are fed to the customer's Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) through optically isolated outputs.
