Why would the Tonnage Profiler 3000 be beneficial to me?

1. By profiling the tonnage, using press ram position data from the Resolver and Tonnage from the strain gauges, you can pinpoint with great accuracy the tonnage at the exact angle the tonnage in question happens. The advantage you gain from this feature is that it is sensitive enough to detect the subtle variations due to changes in material thickness or hardness, inconsistent die lube, worn tooling, slugs, splits and wrinkles. In other words this becomes an indispensable trouble-shooting tool for both the maintenance and QA departments in your plant.
    
2. By profiling the die’s running load, using press ram position data and tonnage information you can pinpoint with great accuracy the load at the exact point in the stroke in which it occurs. This allows toolmakers to identify when punches engage the material or when forming occurs. In other words this creates a fingerprint for that die which can be used as a reference each time that particular die runs.
    
3. This technology also allows for a higher degree of machine protection by monitoring the load through out the entire stroke. High tonnage limits can be set to follow the tonnage profile rather than just the peak as with conventional load monitors. This helps to eliminate the possibility of jamming the machine on bottom due to developing excess load to high up in the stroke.
    
4. By using your EXISTING Resolver and Strain gauge signals you realize a large savings in capital expenditure.
    
5. The data or “foot prints” collected can be exported to a spreadsheet such as Excel.
    
6. The unit or software has a “Job Memory” feature where one can import the curve from the previous time the job was run

FAQ

1. Q: Will the Tonnage Profiler 3000 upset my resolver or tonnage readings on the equipment I am already running?
   A: NO. For the Tonnage measurement, the Tonnage Profiler 3000 uses a high impedance electronics making it in essence invisible to your tonnage monitor. For the resolver reading most PLS output BCD, Graycode or some type of analog signal that is used with auxiliary feeding equipment where Press Position is important.
    
2. Q: What if we don’t have a PLS or Resolver available for the Tonnage Profiler 3000?
   A: We have reasonably priced industrial encoders, that when coupled to your press will output the pulse train required.
    
3. Q: What if we don’t have a Tonnage monitor on our press.
   A: We can supply 2 or 4 piece strain gauge kits required to generate Tonnage signals required.
    
4. Q: Do I need to re-calibrate my tonnage monitor after installing the Tonnage Profiler 3000?
   A: NO. You simply run a calibration routine in our software, which calibrates the Tonnage Profiler 3000, independent of any existing hardware.
    
5. Q: Can I install my own the Tonnage Profiler 3000?
   A: YES, the Tonnage Profiler 3000 is very easy to install. The system was designed to be very un-intrusive. If you feel you do not wish to perform the installation, feel free to contact us as we can arrange for professional installation services.
    
6. Q: If I want to use my laptop but have more than one (1) press I want to use the Tonnage Profiler 3000 on do I need to buy additional Licenses?
   A: NO. We will, via software keys, allow you to use the software on as many presses you require in your plant. The only purchase will be the Interface or Signal conditioning boxes which are mounted permanently at each press.
    
7. Q: Do I need to buy any special cards for my PC or laptop?
   A: NO. Included with the purchase you are supplied the hardware necessary to interface with your laptop or PC.
