Control Solutions That Fit
|
The Helm-Pak press control combines advanced technology from two industry
leaders, Helm Instrument and Allen-Bradley. Like the PLC-5 control, the SLC-5
based Helm-Pak uses a pair of redundant processors for control of mechanical
stamping presses. This clutch/brake package uses two (2) SLC-5/03 processors and
Application Builder software for configuring special options and user-written
programs.
Helm-Pak is an excellent and affordable choice for upgrading your
existing press controls. This advanced approach to machine control eliminates
relays and outdated "black box" technology. Due to the redundant SLC-5/03
processors, Helm-Pak is designed to meet or exceed ANSI and OSHA requirements.
The system is adaptable for integrating other programmable controller based
operating functions. |

easily understood for standardized maintenance training and
troubleshooting.

safety requirements.

Flexible Automation For The Pressroom
Helm-Pak features a variety of menu driven prompts
for setting overall machine operation and the PLS/die monitoring look
windows. All machine operating functions are displayed on one common
screen thus eliminating the need to look at multiple controls during
machine set-up. Operator interface is provided by a fully-programmed
operator interface. Preconfigured display screens include:
-
Start up check list - prompts the operator with a
list of single-key-actions for starting the press.
-
Clutch brake overview - displays machine position
from 0 to 360 degrees, cam settings and fault prompt numbers.
-
Resolver monitor - indicates position of crank
angle for set-up of (3) standard cams - brake cam, brake cam takeover
and anti repeat.
-
Brake monitor - displays initial angle of brake,
actual angle, brake stopping time and brake fault time in
milliseconds.
-
Faults and prompts - displays machine stop faults,
alarm history, and location of die protection alarms and tonnage
overloads.
-
PLS/Die Monitoring - up to 14 separate screens are
used to display part numbers, (up to 100) press positions and PLS
setpoints. All settings can be adjusted on or off-line.
-
Load monitoring - displays individual channel
tonnage and loads at angle. Reverse (snap thru) tonnage, strokes per
minute and parts counter settings are included on this valuable
screen.

The Helm-Pak is available in several configurations.
